TIME TO CELEBRATE KATHARINE OF ARAGON

The Peterborough Celebrates campaign has whipped up a real, palpable buzz about the 900th birthday of our prestigious cathedral, and what better way to commence it than the annual festival celebrating its most famous resident, Katharine of Aragon.

Cathedral-Katharine-of-Aragon-re-enactorThe three day event aims to bring to life the story of Katharine, from her Spanish roots to her marriage with Henry VIII, all the way to her burial in Peterborough in 1536.

The celebration will also utilise the powers of music, dancing and literature to create a bridge between English and Spanish cultures.

The popular festival, organised by Peterborough Cathedral and Vivacity, takes place between January 25 – 28, and as ever crams in numerous events to entertain all, from young to old, and newcomers to history nerds.

We’ve picked a few of our favourites below, but for a full run down on the schedule visit www.vivacity-peterborough.com.
