Steam train fans will be heading to Nene Valley Railway this month as the Sir Nigel Gresley locomotive will be in action on the tracks in April.
They celebrate steam-hauled services at NVR with 60007 back in 1950’s blue for the first time since an overhaul. The locomotive N°4498 Sir Nigel Gresley was the 100th Gresley Pacific built by the Great Northern Railway / London and North Eastern Railway and is bound to be a popular one to see in Peterborough.
You can take a ride on various dates from April 7 – 16 including two special trips when you can enjoy a fish and chip supper on board.
There's plenty more happening at NVR and lots of other special events and trips to enjoy.
The Easter Bunny will be making an appearance on Wednesday April 12, so keep an eye out for him around Wansford Station.
Hop along to Wansford for an exciting ride along the line aboard a heritage locomotive. For an additional £2, pick up one of their activity sheets and get a sweet treat!
See if the kids can find the 11 hidden words, which the Easter Bunny has scattered around Wansford Station?
If you fancy a night out at NVR, Dr Busker & his Dorset Rats will be performing on Saturday May 27 as part of a special evening of fish and chips on the train with a bar and music onboard as well as on the platform afterwards until 11pm.
