BANDMADE MERCH FOR LOCAL BANDS

If you're in a local band and need merchandise a Peterborough business is here to help - and they've already been nominated for awards for their revolutionary approach.

Bandmade Merch Co is a finalist in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and a finalist in two categories at the Peterborough Small Business Awards.

Bandmade Merch Co, a Peterborough based merchandise company helping unsigned bands and artists, has received three award nominations. They are a finalist in the ‘Early Stage Stand Out’ category in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and are also a finalist of the ‘New Small Business’ award and the ‘Innovation’ award in The Peterborough Small Business Awards.

Bandmade Merch Co is owned by best friends Loti Fuster-Bradley and Tim Willett who saw a gap in the market for merchandise on demand for musicians in the UK. The company makes clothing and accessories to help bands and emerging artists with their merchandise as approximately 70% of an artists revenue is dependant on merchandise sales.

The company also gives musicians the opportunity to open a store to sell their merchandise via their online marketplace. Products are only made when they are purchased, doing their bit to fight fashion waste and help the planet. This also helps emerging talent save money, giving them an alternative to investing money into merchandise that might never be sold.

Co-Founder of Bandmade Merch Co, Tim Willett has been a part of the East Anglia music scene for over a decade. As the host of Cambridge 105's New Music Generator radio show, the face behind the NMG Awards and former artist manager, Tim has witnessed first-hand the challenges that unsigned musicians face in bringing their music and merchandise to the masses.

He explains, "I know the trouble bands and artists have with finding room in someone's garage to store merch, not having anyone to look after the merch stand at gigs, and not being able to source low-cost quality merch with no minimum order quantities, so we hope to help with those problems."

Co-Founder of Bandmade Merch Co, Loti Fuster-Bradley says, “We’re extremely proud of what we have achieved in just 7 months of business with over 20 bands signed up for stores, some of which who made their money back within hours of opening their online stores to fans. We feel our business offers something unique that helps both unsigned artists and the planet. To have our efforts recognised by The Great British Entrepreneur Awards and The Small Business Awards is fantastic and we’re very grateful to be shortlisted as finalists.”

Previous winners of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, include the founders of BrewDog, MyEnergi, Zilch, Grenade, and ClearScore, have gone on to become household names and set benchmarks for excellence and innovation in their respective fields.

The Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards national final takes place on Monday, November 18 at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House and has been dubbed 'The Grammys of Entrepreneurship'.

The Early Stage Stand Out is awarded to an entrepreneur in their first year of trading that is already displaying signs of significant success and innovation in their respective industry.

The Small Business Awards aim to reward, acknowledge, and inspire small businesses across the UK through local awards programmes and the final is in October.
