CELEB’S LINE UP FOR FOOTY Vs CANCER CHARITY GAME

Now, we know that celebrities have a way with showbiz, glamour and all that comes with it… but how hard can they kick a ball compared to us?

Football Vs. Cancer, formerly known as Peterborough Vs. Cancer, are hosting another all action football match with members of the public going up against various stars.

Celeb’s involved include singer Leo ‘The Lion’ who featured several times on The Streets number one album ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’, as well as stand-up comedian Omid Djalili who starred in Academy Award winning film ‘The Mummy’… and that’s just to name two of the twenty four celebrities who’ll be involved in the fundraising throughout the day.

Ex-England footballers Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock and Des Walker will join the likes of actor Tamer Hassan and Marcus Ebdon and a  vast array of celebrities from different careers… so this should make one exciting game.

After the success of last year where they raised a whopping £12,500, the Event Committee Chair, Raphael Frascogna, is hoping to raise at least £10,000 on Saturday June 30 in aid of Anna’s Hope; a Stamford based charity which supports children with brain tumours.

Following what’s set to be an intense match will be a Gala Dinner and charity auction hosted at the Holiday Inn Peterborough (West), where those lucky enough to previously book and get a place will be dining alongside the celebrities, with plenty of chances to rub shoulders with the stars, and the best part? A nice three course meal to tuck in to!

Harry’s Bar in the city centre will host the ‘After Party’ for the second year in a row where the fun and excitement will continue through the night.

The match will take place at Zeeco Stadium, Stamford AFC ground with gates opening at 12 before kick-off starting promptly at 1pm. Don’t worry if you can’t get to the Gala Dinner as you can still watch the match for just £5 a ticket. Those under 16 or over 65 are admitted free.
