CELEBRATE BEST OF BRITISH AT VINE HOUSE FARM

If you’re looking for a day out, Vine House Farm at Deeping St Nicholas is celebrating the Best of British with an event on Sunday April 23, promoting British Food & Farming on

St George’s Day including tractor rides around the farm.

You can meet local suppliers and try some of the food as well as picking up some great local produce in the farm shop. It’s also the day home grown asparagus season traditionally starts.

We can recommend the popular café which overlooks a lovely pond and wildlife garden you can walk round plus there’s a small play area for the kids.

It has information boards on each area of planting, a butterfly walk and the pond has resident moorhens that breed in a floating house. There’s a great playground, a wildlife fact hunt and the willow walk and tepee are great for hide and seek.

You can enjoy a wander and the kids can have a play and then you can dive into the café for a range of food and drink including their delicious milkshakes made with Bassingthorpe fresh pasteurised milk. The menu includes a broad choice made with their own and locally sourced ingredients – much of which is available in the adjoining Farm Shop.

There are also several popular Farm Tours you can book for throughout the next few months which will tell you all about how they farm with conservation and wildlife in mind.

In May they are being held on May 10, 13, 25 and 27 but there others throughout the summer. To find out more and book head to www.vinehousefarm.co.uk or
