Fancy a beer in a beach hut… in the city centre?
Summer in the city has had a boost in Peterborough as The College Arms on Broadway has been transformed with a £809,000 revamp by Wetherspoon and we’re loving it!
The popular pub has a new look inside but it’s outside that the biggest change has taken place with the introduction of a great new outdoor drinking area that really does look amazing!
The pub, on Broadway, first opened in May 1996 and has become a popular drinking and eating venue in the city centre.
The time had come for a change and a spruce up so check out this converted rear yard which is now an amazing brand-new garden area.
The existing two small walled courtyards, together with the car park, have been transformed to create one large beer garden at the back of the popular pub.
The space provides more than 3,000sq ft, 180 covers for drinking and dining, in a variety of individually landscaped areas and the team there are delighted with the results.
Drinkers and diners will be able to make the most of the remaining summer nights in undercover areas in the form of beach huts, pergolas and glass canopies.
The lovely new outside space is all lit with festoon and lantern lighting at night for a cosy vibe.
Along the front of the pub, a new external paved patio area provides additional pavement-side outdoor seating.
The inside of the venue’s also been changed up too. Read more in the next column from our Man About Town, Pep Cipriano, online again soon!
