A coming of age movie centred around the Fens hits Peterborough’s Showcase cinema…
The Goob has received critical acclaim since it premiered at the Venice film festival last year, hailed as – ‘An impressive feature debut for director Guy Myhill’ by The Guardian.
It stars first-time actor Liam Walpole, Sienna Guillory (Jill Valentine in the Resident Evil films), Sean Harris (Prometheus) and Hannah Spearritt (of S Club 7 and Agent Cody Banks 2 fame), and is a Norfolk/Fenlands based film.
Atmopsheric and beautifully filmed The Goob focuses on a long hot summer in rural Norfolk and a rough coming of age for Goob Taylor, fighting with brutal, womanising stock car racer Gene Womack for his mother’s attention, and falling for the exotic charms of a pretty foreign field worker.
You can catch it at the Showcase cinema from Friday May 29 and throughout the weekend.
