The annual Peterborough Green Festival is set to return – bigger and better than ever before!
This year the event is heating up, moving to a new summer time date of Saturday August 13, with fringe events running through to August 21.
In addition to this, the independent charity behind it – Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT) – is thrilled to announce that the Festival has been awarded Arts Council funding for a three-year period, bringing a fantastic £73,500 of funding into the city!
“We’re so excited about this year’s Green Festival!” Laura Fanthorpe from Peterborough Environment City Trust told ESP. “Not only is it now being held on a new date at the height of summer, but the amazing support from Travelchoice and the Arts Council has enabled us to commission a group of artists to create exciting and innovative artworks specifically for the festival. This will include anything from spoken word, dance, and theatre through to visual art and sculptures – all helping to encourage visitors to the Festival to understand the challenges we all face with climate change and how positive actions can make a huge difference.”
Bringing together attractions, community groups, charities and businesses, the Green Festival celebrates everything green in Peterborough with a wide variety of events and activities running, offering plenty of free fun for the whole family.
