Deepings Raft Race is ready and set to go!
With a theme of 'sporting heroes' for the rafts and general fancy dress, everyone's encouraged to dress up and head to the river on Sunday August 6.
It’s always fantastic fun for all the family with a funfair, a range stalls open from 9.30am, entertainment and live music along the streets and of course all the chaos on the river with homemade crafts of all shapes competing in the sink or swim race on the water.
The event starts at 11am with the raft race starting at 12 noon with the raft parade from The Waterton Arms.
Trophy presentations will be held at the Iron Horse Ranch House in Market Deeping from around 4.30pm
There's still chance to register to take part so don't miss out.
The theme for this year is sporting heroes so don your fancy dress and turn your raft into anything from a race car to a bob sleigh, a tennis court or a boxing ring the choice is yours, so get creative. Perhaps even something to represent your local sports team or club.
This year they’re raising funds for some great causes – The Deepings Community Leisure Centre Project, The Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance,The Carers Sitters Service and The Exotic Pet Refuge.
