DISNEY CLASSICS BACK ON THE BIG SCREEN AT SHOWCASE!

Gavin Miller

A bunch of Disney classics are back at Peterborough’s Showcase Cinema De Lux – as part of Event Cinema.

My 11-year-old son, Joshua, joined me to experience the first of these Family Favourites that will be running over the next couple of months – starting with 2003’s highly-acclaimed Pixar classic Finding Nemo, this Saturday morning.

But we weren’t a fish out of water when it came to experiencing the recent addition of chocolate M&M’s as a topping to our popcorn, as Joshua went for his usual mixed Blue Raspberry and Cherry ICEE to accompany it, and the cornerstone of any early-morning movie, a Costa coffee latte, was just the tonic required for me!

Finding Nemo will be screening again this weekend – (Sunday March 2) at 10.30am – while the animated versions of non-computer-generated Disney all-time greats, The Little Mermaid – weekends of March 8 - 9 and March 15 - 16 – and The Beauty and the Beast – April 19 - 20 and April 26 - 27 – has future engagements as well.

All three are absolutely iconic, and well worth seeing on the big screen.

Also watch out for the likes of Labyrinth, Predator, Alien, Aliens, Commando, Rambo: First Blood Part II, along with exclusive concert/theatre events like SIX The Musical Live! Andre Rieu’s 75th Birthday Celebration: The Dream Continues, and NT Live’s The Importance of Being Ernest and Dr Strangelove, all showing in the coming weeks.

We both thoroughly enjoyed reassessing the original Nemo, which has definitely stood the test of time!

ESP Rating: 4/5

Happy movie-going guys!
