The Festival promises a fantastic day for competitors and spectators alike with funfair activities, inflatables, plenty of food and drink for all the family and a spectacular flypast by a Lancaster Bomber at around 2.30pm.
Carol Lester of event organisers, Gable Events, commented – “We’re looking forward to another superb day of racing and entertainment!
To celebrate Chinese New Year and the Year of the Horse, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices has joined with Gable Events for this, the 16th Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival – one of the largest and most eagerly anticipated team events in the region.
Over 30 crews representing companies, organisations, clubs and groups of friends from all over Peterborough and the surrounding area will battle it out over the 200m race course. They will all be seeking to become champions whilst also aiming to add to the event’s impressive fund-raising total of more than £200,000 for charity over the years.
Pop down to the Rowing Lake to enjoy the fun from around 10.30am with the final at about 4pm and the ESP paparazzi photographers will be there to capture the action.
