Are you already prepared for Christmas? Have you got your presents, decorations and cards sorted?
Or is the thought of it all starting to panic you slightly?
Not to worry! Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT) is running a series of classes through its Greeniversity project to help you create some fantastic homemade gifts for free.
Greeniversity is a national green skill share initiative that gives people the opportunity to teach and learn practical eco skills in a way that values their environment, helping to create sustainable communities for the future.
“Christmas may be dear to our hearts, but it can also be dear for our bank accounts!” explains Greeniversity Development Lead Jennie Orrell. “Our free Greeniversity classes will give you the opportunity to learn practical skills to make Christmas gifts, whilst keeping your spending low.”
Just in case you aren’t convinced about a ‘handmade Christmas’, online statistics show that 57% of people believe receiving a handcrafted present means more than something bought in a high street store and 54% of people prefer to receive a present that is personalised.
Are you feeling inspired yet to have a go at making festive presents for your nearest and dearest? Then join one of Greeniversity’s craft sessions and produce some creative gifts this year. Head along and lend a hand – all creative ideas are welcome!
