FANS WALL COMES TO LIFE AT POSH

ESP’s columnist Phil Adlam from Peterborough United has the latest on an exciting new venture that will make local people, and fans, feel closer to the club AND will help create a better academy for local kids…

At Peterborough United we’re very much aware of the connection that the club has with the city. From school kids to parents, from grandparents to work colleagues, it’s about local people who put their heart and soul into supporting the team.

So we wanted to give our fans something back and, at the same time, create an even better club for our supporter base. The Posh Academy is massively important to the club and our fans as it helps develop local talent, provides kids with fun and educational training, plus delivers us future stars that help to continually build our club.

Although the academy is important it is very expensive to fund. So we wanted to create something unique that raises funds for kids of all ages and also make fans feel even closer to the club.

The Posh Life Wall contains over 700 time capsules which fans can buy and in which they can place their own memories and memorabilia of Posh. All club profits will go direct to the academy so fans know they’re contributing to the future success of the club.

The Life Wall will take pride of place in front of the ground and form part of a brand new fan zone including seating, improved pathways and a statue to club legend, Chris Turner. The face of the wall is made up of 700 tiles which forms an impressive montage inside the stadium. Each fan that buys a time capsule also has the opportunity to add their own picture to the image creating a fantastic homage to our fans.

Fans can buy a place on the Posh Life Wall for themselves, for a family member, or as a group. The wall is permanent so fans create a true legacy for themselves, for the club, and for the kids in the academy.

The Posh Life Wall also comes with an interactive screen so fans can find out more about who and what is inside the wall and share their own memories. We will also have an app so every fan can share their stories whenever and wherever they are.

It really is going to create impact at the stadium. More importantly it’s really going to impact on the lives of young people. We will be able to create an academy that defines the city and gives young people a greater fighting chance of being a success story. This story begins with the passion and generosity of the fans of Peterborough United.
