Generous store FatFace in Queensgate Shopping Centrehas handed over a cheque for almost £900 to local charity, the Free Kicks Foundation.
The funds were a part of a national campaign which took place on Black Friday; instead of offering a discount to shoppers as was the trend with many other brands, FatFace donated 10% of its net profits to charities. The Queensgate store has now received its share of the profits which it has chosen to award to Free Kicks Foundation.
FatFace launched the ‘Thanks for Giving’ campaign as a way of supporting charities local to the 221 FatFace stores nationwide. Saving the sales for Boxing Day, FatFace turned discounting into something that would benefit the local communities.
The initiative saw an extremely positive response from customers both in store and nationally via social media. In total, FatFace has donated just under £200,000 to local charities.
Store Manager at FatFace in Queensgate, Stevie Casson, said: “I feel proud to work for a company that believes in giving something back, this has been a fantastic initiative and we’re so excited to be able to give the Free Kicks Foundation such a significant amount of money. They provide amazing football days out for deserving children and young adults, which can make such a difference to them and gives them a truly memorable experience. I want to thank all of our customers that purchased from our store over that weekend as they have made such a positive change in helping this small local charity.”
