Plans have been put in place to make travel into and out of Peterborough’s huge Firework Fiesta much easier this year.
The event at Peterborough Arena on Saturday November 5 attracts around 10,000 people and the organisers tell us they’ve reorganised the access and parking arrangements to better accomodate the crowds.

This year’s event looks set to raise thousands more for local charities with an incredible display lined up along with a fun fair and stage entertainment hosted by Haert FM.
New traffic plans are in place to ease the departure process by managing the traffic flow and increasing the number of exits off the Showground at the event.
Cars and vehicles can enter the Showground from Loch Lomond Way, off Oundle Road and from Dunblane Drive, off the Orton Parkway. Separate car parks and pay points for entry to Firework Fiesta will be available for each entry point.

The showground site will be closed to all traffic from 7.30pm to allow all exit routes to be cleared and with the event attracting around 10,000 visitors, anyone planning to go should allow plenty of time to park in the free car parks, to enjoy the fairground, live music, food stalls and get the best view for the spectacular display which starts at 7.30pm promptly. Those arriving in a vehicle after 7.30pm will not be allowed entry, even if they have pre-paid tickets.
At the end of the evening visitors will be able to leave by three exit points: Loch Lomond Way, Dunblane Drive and the A1. All routes in and out of the showground will be one-way.

Pedestrians will be able to enter and leave via Gate 5A off Loch Lomond Drive and Gate 13 off Dunblane Drive. A taxi drop off and collection point has been arranged opposite the Harvester Inn off Oundle Road. Taxis will not be allowed into the showground.
Commenting on the arrangements, organiser Colin Harrison told us, “Firework Fiesta has a impeccable safety record. Safety, fun and a good night out for all the family is what the event is all about and as the event has got bigger and bigger we have had to take steps to make sure that, as more people come to enjoy Firework Fiesta, they’re able to arrive and leave as quickly and smoothly as possible.”
