Autin Dance Theatre presents Out of the Deep Blue at Peterborough Celebrates Festival 2023!
One of the highlights of the Peterborough Celebrates Festival on Saturday May 20 in Nene Park is a very special performance by the amazing Autin Dance Theatre.
They’ll be performing Out of the Deep Blue – a moving tale about our earth's climate emergency told through dance, movement and masterful puppeteering. This outdoor spectacle features 'Eko', a 13-foot-tall Sea Giant Puppet and 6 world-class performers.
You can catch free walkabout performances of Sea Giant Eko through Nene Park leading you to static performances from 11.30am, 2pm and 5pm.
Simon Hollingworth, Creative Producer of Peterborough Celebrates Festival says – “I am genuinely so excited about welcoming Autin Dance Theatre to the Peterborough Celebrates Festival on May 20. Out of the Deep Blue is a performance and walkabout that I have seen moments of online many times but have never seen in person. I absolutely I know it will be a huge hit at our event and cannot wait to see the reaction on the faces of our festival goers.”
Johnny Autin, Artistic Director of Autin Dance Theatre added – “We are thrilled to be bringing our sensational outdoor performance Out of the Deep Blue to Peterborough this as part of Peterborough Celebrates Festival, and we can’t wait for Eko to meet audiences in Nene Park, and for him and little Violet to share their stories with the children and their families in the audience. Thank you to the Festival team and their partners/funders for making this happen and supporting us to deliver what promises to be an exciting and engaging cultural event for all!”
Peterborough Celebrates is a free festival at Nene Park on Saturday May 20 and Sunday May 21 and is packed with culture, arts, music, sport, food and much more.
