If you like a bit of history and to take a trip back into the past, there are some great interactive events coming up in Peterborough which will really bring heritage to life!
Travel back through the past with the Time Travellers workshops at Peterborough Museum in Priestgate which run on April 7, 8 & 9 from 10:30am – 12:30pm. It’s £5 per child, accompanying adults go free but you must book in advance.
Try your hand at making pottery like the Romans, jewellery like the Saxons, and stained glass like Medieval people – and discover how we know how these ancient wonders were made!

You can head all the way back to 1,000BC on Saturday April 4 – Bank Holiday Monday April 6 at Flag Fen Archaeology Park.
It’s back to the Bronze Age, as a group of living historians will be on site over the weekend, cooking, working and living as our ancient ancestors did over 3,000 years ago. Try your hand at various traditional skills with demonstrations and have-a-go sessions over the weekend and dig for ancient artefacts in the replica archaeological dig. Also, find out about life on the other side of Europe in this period by meeting an Ancient Greek warrior!
There’s no need to book for this event, just drop in. Admission: £7 adults, £5 children/concessions, £18 families
Then over at Longthorpe Tower on Saturday April 11 & Sunday April 12 you can see what it was like there in 1485. Sir Robert Whittlebury is preparing to fight for King Richard III. Meet soldiers, handle weapons, see the ‘arming of the knight’ daily at 11am and 3pm. Find out about delicious food and gruesome cures, but be prepared to join the troops as you are enlisted in family military drill sessions!
