Ever wanted to try a zip slide? Well, here’s your chance!
Imagine zipping along at a thrilling 25mph, 120 metres in the air… the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire & Northamptonshire are staging Peterborough’s first ever zip slide event on Sunday March 24 at Peterborough United FC, giving people the chance to experience a unique zip ride across the London Road stadium at speeds of up to 25 miles per hour!
Trust representative Caroline Prout told ESP – “Kindly sponsored by The Norwich & Peterborough Building Society, the zip slide across the stadium is a first for our Trust and a first for both POSH and the people of Peterborough. We aim to give all participants the thrill of their lives and a ‘birds-eye’ view of London Road stadium.”
Nothing like this has been staged before in the area and it is certain to attract huge attention – and participation. Any thrill seekers wanting to take part will need to register now to be in with a chance to do this once in a lifetime activity, the event will help raise vital funds for the Wildlife Trust BCN’s work protecting rare habitat and species. The Trust has 10 nature reserves in Peterborough home to a diversity of species from marsh harrier, badgers and great crested newts to orchids, red kites and bluebells.
