ICE SKATING AT FERRY MEADOWS

What could be more magical than ice skating in your favourite park? Get your skates on and book your tickets for the ice rink in Ferry Meadows which opens on Friday November 25.

This year the Park is going all out for the festive season and come sun or snow it will have a distinct Christmas feel with ice skating and gifts galore.

From November 25 to January 2 you can enjoy the open-air ice rink, a mini Christmas market and vintage fun fair, festooned with twinkling lights and festive garlands.

It’s an idyllic setting and we can’t wait to head down and get in the Christmas spirit with some winter fun and shopping for some great gifts. Look out for ESP review and pictures on our social media.

The ice rink has room for up to 35 skaters in a session and the eco-friendly synthetic ice is scientifically engineered to allow you to glide just as smoothly as you can on real ice, whilst having minimal impact on the environment.

It’ll be open daily throughout the winter season and it’s suitable for ages 4 and over. Prices start from just £6 per skating session with all proceeds going straight back to maintaining the beautiful Park. The price also includes free parking so taking the family won’t blow your budget.

After a skate you can head to the mini Christmas market to sample some delicious food and drink, from warming mulled wine and indulgent hot chocolate to traditional Bratwürst and a range of tasty sweet treats. We’re feeling all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it!

Kick off your Christmas shopping too with several stalls offering unique gifts and the opportunity to support local community groups. There’s even more to choose from in the Ferry Meadows Gift & Farm Shop, where you’ll find gorgeous Christmas decorations and some fantastic present ideas for something a little different. There’s also a new range of festive Farm Shop produce available from premium local suppliers.

An exciting vintage fun fair and rides on the festive-themed miniature railway will provide even more entertainment, alongside a variety of children’s crafts and activities, including letter writing to Father Christmas and sharing Christmas wishes on the Park wishing tree.

Their fundraising Christmas stars will be available again this year from the Visitor Centre and as a craft activity. The stars will then be hung in the Park for everyone to enjoy.

Christmas at Ferry Meadows will be open daily with the exception of Christmas Day. Open hours are 4pm-8pm weekdays, and 10am-8pm at weekends and during the school Christmas holidays.

Book your skating sessions online or at the ice rink kiosk at the Park, subject to availability. www.nenepark.org.uk/christmas
