The first stage of the return of activities at Nene Park in Peterborough has begun.
On Saturday (June 6) outdoor enthusiasts were able to enjoy swan pedalo rides and cycle hire services.
These now operate daily between 11am and 6pm, but you must book online and in advance to comply with government regulations.
There are several changes to their usual hire procedures to ensure the safety of staff and customers, with all hire taking place outside of the Nene Outdoors buildings, which remain closed for the time being.
The popular swan pedalos are available to hire for 30 minute slots on the Nene Park booking page and pedalo time slots will be released 24 hour in advance, and cycle hire can be booked on the Rutland Cycling website.
To ensure safety, staff will be wearing personal protective equipment at all times and the hire equipment is being thoroughly sanitised in high contact areas between each use and social distancing is still required by customers along with regular hand sanitising.
Plans are in place to widen the watersports and activity offer just as soon as it’s safe to do so.
