It’s taken A Little Time but there’s a new tribute act in town, about to make their debut at Yaxley Festival in May.
Very Beautiful South is an authentic 9-piece tribute to The Beautiful South and the songwriting genius of Paul Heaton & Dave Rotheray.
The band is made up of a group of experienced and professional musicians who are lifelong fans of The Beautiful South.
They’re hoping their Peterborough debut on Saturday May 14 at the popular Yaxley Festival will be a Perfect 10 with fans of the band’s classic hits and build their popularity on the Peterborough music circuit.
Between 1989 and 2007, The Beautiful South clocked-up no less than 20 UK Top-30 hits with most making it into the UK Top-10, including the No.1 hit A Little Time and other classic songs such as: Perfect 10, Rotterdam, Old Red Eyes, Good As Gold, and Don’t Marry Her.
Quickly gaining themselves a reputation for putting on a hugely entertaining show, Very Beautiful South are looking like the perfect tribute band for festivals, shows and theatres across the UK – playing hit after hit to transport you back into the heady days of Hull’s alternative pop-rock sound and quirky lyrics.
The band is made up of Lisa Arbon and Andy Whittaker providing the vocals with Alan Henery on guitars, Mark Hurrell on bass and vocals, Art Chapman on drums, Will Barrowcliffe providing percussion, Keith Dalton on keyboards, Dave Anton on trumpet and Dave Taylor on sax/flute.
