Funhouse Comedy Club, which already runs successful nights locally, has announced the launch of their brand new comedy night at South Holland Centre, Spalding on Friday January 31.
Funhouse Comedy Clubs are renowned for having exceptionally friendly audiences and a brilliant atmosphere which have led to twice winning Best Midlands Comedy Club awards with leading comedy website Chortle. Previous acts to have played its clubs on their road to fame and fortune include Sarah Millican, Russell Kane, Jack Whitehall and Rhod Gilbert, who described the clubs as ‘among the best anywhere in the world’.
Headlining the launch is the effortlessly engaging, Andrew Bird. Watching The Young Ones with his brothers as an eight year old, at two in the morning on Comic Relief, he realised then that he wanted to be funny in some way. With his personal appeal and superbly crafted, funny anecdotes he captivates his audiences. He’as supported Rhod Gilbert and Lee Hurst as well as performing internationally.
Support comes from comedian and TV writer Caimh Mcdonnell. Genial white-haired Irishman Caimh (pronounced ‘Queeve’) has quickly established himself as one of the circuits most amiable and friendly acts. His gentle yet incisive humour makes any audience feel involved, whilst playing with their expectations.
Completing the line-up is the bright and bubbly Carly Smallman who appeared on TV’s ‘The Rob Brydon Show’. Her sassy songs and genuinely irresistible personality never fail to keep her audiences absorbed.
Compere for the night is the friendly and energetic Spiky Mike.
