See the city’s museum in a whole new light during the Museums at Night national festival, which focuses on inspiring after-hours cultural events in museums, galleries and heritage sites.
On Thursday May 16, at 7.30pm, Peterborough Museum will be holding a special Candlelit Ghost Tour. Dare you spend an evening in the city’s most haunted building? The tour will be led by a costumed guide, who will show visitors around the building by candlelight, explaining the stories behind the building’s paranormal happenings. It’s £5 for adults and £3 concessions.
Don’t miss a Night at the Museum on Friday May 17, 8-11pm. Experience the Museum as you never have before with this late night adventure for the whole family! Snuggle down amidst the Georgian surroundings to hear what happens in museums once the visitors have gone home! In addition to this, you can enjoy fun activities and a ‘midnight’ snack. All children must be accompanied by an adult. £8 per person.
Plus take part in a Museums at Night Ghost Hunt on Saturday May 18, 8pm-4am. With occupation dating back to the 16th century, there are regular ghost sightings and many stories of paranormal activity at Peterborough Museum. Hear the stories in a special late night tour. Over 18s only. £25 per person.
