PETERBOROUGH CELEBRATES 900 YEARS WITH MEDIEVAL ENTERTAINMENT

Sharpen your swords and pitch forks!

To honour Peterborough Cathedral’s 900th anniversary, Queensgate Shopping Centre invites everyone to join in as they bring the medieval period back to life.

From Monday July 30 until Sunday August 5 they will re-create the village of Medeshamstede, the name of the city before it was developed over the years, so make sure you don’t miss out on all the fun.

Watch as Knights of the Round Table battle with swords, listen to valiant tales and learn new bewitching spells from Merlin himself! During the event there will also be a ‘Sword in the stone’ competition to discover whether you’re meant to be king or queen of the city. No cheating though or you’ll be put in the stocks!

This is a free for everyone who goes along to participate.
