PETERBOROUGH LOOKS FORWARD TO ITS FIRST EVER RIVER FESTIVAL

Summer time in Peterborough is looking better and better and now festival fans can enjoy a weekend of music, food and entertainment on the embankment next to the River Nene at Peterborough’s first ever River Festival.

Taking place from Friday June 19 to Sunday June 21 and to celebrate the River Nene, the embankment will come alive with music, arts, crafts, international food, demonstrations such as cheese making, bee keeping and of course, water activities too! Oh and did I mention 24 different local and national ales and a summer tipple of sangria?

The live music and entertainment stage will feature local acts and community groups and also one of the UK’s most up and coming bands, Coco & the Butterfields who will be performing on the Friday night. Tickets to watch the band start from £5. On the Saturday, live music will be free throughout the day but at 5pm the bar and stage area will close, reopening at 5.15pm with a small entry price of £2.50. Sunday is free all day.

Paul Kennedy, events director at Market Square Group, said: “We can’t wait to bring this festival to Peterborough and showcase all the local talent.”

Tickets are on sale at www.clickit-tickets.co.uk and at the Travel Information Centre and Visitor Information Centre in Peterborough.

The ESP team can’t wait for the festival and we hope to see you all there!
