PETERBOROUGH PODCAST IS BACK TO KEEP US SMILING

Need a laugh? Two popular former local radio presenters are back with their podcast to keep Peterborough listeners smiling during lockdown.

Former BBC Radio Cambridgeshire presenters Paul Stainton and Ronnie Barbour have brought back their Total BS Podcast, originally broadcast during the first lockdown.

The podcast takes a sideways look at the week’s news in an effort to combat the lockdown blues.

They’re being released every week and both Ronnie and Paul ask that if you laugh, you donate whatever you can to a local charity.

Paul told ESP – “I think people are struggling more with this second lockdown and we are no different.

“Hopefully this podcast will lift the mood for a while and transport people to a happy place, hopefully not Turf Moor.”

“As we know, lots of charities are struggling at the moment and if we can make people laugh whilst raising a few quid for charity, then why not? If we don’t make you laugh then my name is Michael Macintyre.”

The two are used to entertaining listeners after years of broadcasting, with the two becoming friends while working on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

Paul joked about his co-host – “Ronnie is like Orville the duck – I lock him in a cupboard when we are not performing and I only bring him out when he needs a wee or a Tunnock’s tea cake.”
