PETERBOROUGH'S STRONGEST

This Saturday sees the return of the competition with real people power – the search for Peterborough’s Strongest in association with Royal’s Gym.

Contestants will take the stage in Cathedral Square to show their muscle and compete in a range of categories including Women, Beginners, Novice, and Intermediate.

It's on from 10am - 5pm and there will be free 'strongperson' inspired activities for children, led by the team at Vivacity.

Free to watch it’s a gripping contest as they take the strain in a range of challenges in a bid to lift the trophy. The first event last year was a big success and this year sees the introduction of new challenges including competitors testing their strength in a truck pull.

Sam Fowler, Founder of Royal’s Gym says – “We run several strongman and strongwoman competitions throughout the year and for us it's about providing opportunities for athletes to get involved at various levels and abilities.

"We have designed and built something really special for Peterborough, which will offer new challenges for the competitors and give the crowd something special to watch.”

Organised by Peterborough Positive, the city's BID (Business Improvement District) this exciting event takes place on Saturday August 10 in front of the Guildhall. It's one of several free events the organisation has brought to the centre to attract more visitors.
