POPULAR COMEDY CLUB RETURNS TO PETERBOROUGH

Get ready for the laughs in May as The Cresset in Peterborough gets ready to bring back its popular Comedy Club.

Socially distanced giggles are back in the diary as the theatre in Bretton prepares to brings us two nights of cracking comedy on May 28 and 29.

Staged in the main auditorium rather than the usual cosier room, the last comedy night with well spaced out separate tables proved a real boost back in October when punters desperate for a smile went along to enjoy a night of stand up.

Plans for more were scuppered by further restrictions but as things to start to ease again they can’t wait to bring back the well established night which has been bringing top comedy to the city since 1998.

Penny Hansen, Head of Cresset Commercial Activities said “Our October Comedy Club was so much fun. It was sold out and the audience were fantastic, so we’ve been dying to get another one in the diary. For all the staff, the audience, and the comedians on stage it was an absolute joy to be at a live event, and so with the end of the pandemic hopefully in sight we expect the May events to be pretty special as people really want to celebrate, and have a good laugh!”

The Cresset’s Comedy Club has played host to some of the UK’s biggest comedians as they toured the circuit before becoming household names.

Tickets for the May Comedy Clubs on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 are now on sale with tables for up to 6 people available to comply with the ‘rule of 6’ for indoor social interaction, social distancing and full table service.

Line ups will be released nearer the time. You can book online and read more about The Cresset’s safety measures at www.cresset.co.uk.
