The Peterborough Panthers speedway team have drafted in some special guests for their Premier League showdown against Edinburgh on Tuesday May 6 . . . the Peterborough United first-team squad.
The Posh aces will warm up for their League One Play-Offs bid with a visit to the East of England Showground as the ‘TC Harrison’ Panthers chase a fifth successive home victory. They will show off the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy – which they lifted at Wembley for the first time in their history back in March – ahead of racing at Alwalton. And Panthers supremo Mick Horton hopes their presence can serve as an inspiration as Panthers continue their own challenge for glory this season – “We’re delighted to welcome the Posh lads to the Showground – and it is fantastic they are bringing the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy along with them. “It was a great day at Wembley and it would be brilliant if they could return in the play-offs. “Hopefully we can also do our bit for city sport at Panthers by enjoying some success on the track this season.” Admission for the meeting against an Edinburgh side chasing a fourth Premier League title in 11 years is £15 for adults, £5 for children aged between 12-16 and free for those under the age of 12.
