It’s not too late to join this year’s Starlight Hike, and help raise money for the new hospice at Thorpe Hall…
ESP Magazine is once again supporting this great charity event and will be there to capture all the action!
You can call the hospice to register over the phone on 01733 330060, or you can even register on the night. It’s great fun every year with a fantastic atmopshere.
The Starlight Hike is a 10K walk around Peterborough, and the route will take in the grounds of the Hospice at the half way point, so for those who’ve never been you’ll see what you’re raising money for.
Face of ESP Simona Bajorinaite says – “This is such a good night I hope lots of people will get involved and help Thorpe Hall’s 60th anniversary appeal, it’s such a fantastic local cause.”
The walk takes place this Sunday May 26 – bank holiday weekend – and will start and finish at Peterborough Greyhound Stadium. Walkers will be setting off as the sun sets at 8pm for a fun-filled stroll around the local area.
Everyone who takes part will receive a T-shirt, a goody bag, a pin badge and refreshments once they’ve finished.
It really is a great fun event and is open to men, women and children. Sue Matson ahs walked it before and told ESP – “I walk for Thorpe Hall Hospice in memory of my sister, Alison, but not only that, there’s always such a great sense of friendship and achievement on the night. The first year I walked with friends, however last year I signed up on my own. But that didn’t make a difference, because I quickly met other walkers and talked all the way round.
“Starlight Hike was well organised, safe, fun and the marshals cheered us on all the way. The lovely welcome back we received when we completed the walk, with a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea, made you really feel like you’d achieved something.
“I’d definitely recommend taking part to anyone. Even if you sign up on your own you’ll soon meet some amazing people and you will really feel a sense of achievement.”
