SCHOOL OF ROCK

Are you ready to rock?!

The Cresset’s spectacular production of School of Rock is about to take to the stage from October 31 to November 3.

Based on the smash hit film starring Jack Black, this high energy musical features music from Andrew Lloyd Webber with all your favourites from the film and a few more besides.

The cast is made up of four talented local adult performers, and 40 young people who were offered parts following some highly competitive auditions earlier in the year.

The show follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There, he turns a class of straight–A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out?

The Cresset’s Performing Arts Officer, Monique Benoiton-Smith is the Choreographer and Associate Director for the show and says she can’t wait - “I’m super excited to be putting on School of Rock this year, and with this incredible cast. I’m just blown away by the talent in the room, of all ages.

“After the success of Nativity the Musical last year I wasn’t sure how we could top that quality of show or experience for the young people performing but I needn’t have worried – School of Rock is going to be epic!”

Tickets for School of Rock are on sale now, so don’t miss out – it’ll rock your socks off!
