After last year’s success it’s great to hear that Inspire Peterborough is staging a second annual Sporting Saturday event at The Cresset on Saturday January 24.
There’ll be over 40 sporting and health and wellbeing organisations demonstrating disability sport and leisure activities from 10am ’til 4pm.
The event will bring together some of the key providers of sport for disabled people, their families and carers in and around Peterborough so everyone gets the chance to try something.
At Sporting Saturday they showcase the providers throughout the city who are working to make sport inviting to all, as well as charities and organisations who can provide welcome knowledge about conditions and services.
Inspire Peterborough will be working alongside Radio Peterborough and broadcasting live from the event and Goldhay Arts will be opening the day with their show, there’ll be a display of Bokwa and the Wheelies wheelchair dance group, there’ll be a magic and clowning display and loads more fun packed activities for you to take part in.
The activities available on the day include football, safe archery, laser shooting, boccia and curling, boxing, cricket and table cricket, wheelchair dance and many more.
Weather permitting, a climbing wall will be available in the Cresset car park.
Sporting Saturday is £2 to attend, so why not go along and have a go at something new to kick start your new year!
