TEAMS COMPETE ON NEW CRICKET WICKET

If you fancy yourself as a wannabe Alastair Cook there’s a new community cricket facility at Bretton Park you should check out.

You can see a match in action on Saturday October 5 – to celebrate the installation of the new Bretton Community Artificial Cricket Wicket in Bretton Park, Vivacity will be playing against Peterborough City Council in a T20 match.

The wicket has been funded by Vivacity, PCC’s Community Leadership Fund and Bretton Community Sports Association with support from Bretton Ward Councillors Ann Sylvester and Stuart Martin.

The wicket is one of four wickets installed by Vivacity across the city, and is free to use by the local community of Bretton, perfect for a friendly knockabout, a T20 game or even for local teams to use as a training venue. Other wickets across the city include Werrington and Orton Leisure Centres and Orton Park.

The match is open for anyone to go along and watch, so head down around 10.45am, take a look and then plan your next cricket match with your mates!
