THAT’S A WRAP! ANNA’S HOPE BENEFITS FROM QUEENSGATE SHOPPERS

Stamford based charity Anna’s Hope has had a huge boost from local shoppers keen to make sure their gifts were wrapped to perfection.

Over the festive period the Anna’s Hope fairies took to the mall armed with sticky tape and miles of wrapping paper. Hours of cutting, folding and sticking paid off as the Queensgate charity of the year, raised thousands for the families in need.

A fantastic £7,825.81 was raised with the help of the very generous people of Peterborough, which is almost £2,000 more than the previous year and a new record for Queensgate.

With the support of 80 lovely volunteers, the station ensured that shoppers’ gifts were beautiful wrapped in time for Christmas Day.

Mark Broadhead, Centre Director at Queensgate Shopping Centre said:

“I am absolutely thrilled to learn that Anna’s Hope managed to raise so much money, this shows there is a great spirit of giving in Peterborough, which makes us very proud to be part of it. Thank you again to everyone who made use of our gift wrapping station.”

Carole Hughes, founder of Anna’s Hope and Anna’s Mummy said – “I am so overwhelmed and humbled with the money we have raised throughout December on the gift wrapping station. We really enjoyed doing it and the shoppers of Queensgate were incredibly nice and hugely generous.

“It was lovely to think on Christmas morning of all those who would be unwrapping gifts we had wrapped, including two engagement rings! (I hope you said yes ladies!)  The money raised will make such a huge difference to all those we support. Thank you to Queensgate for letting us be part of this and to the people of Peterborough for your donations, we could not have done it without you.”
