THE AEPG GREAT EASTERN RUN NEEDS YOU!

Whether it be as a runner, supporter or volunteer, join the excitement at the AEPG Great Eastern Run - there's not long to go. ESP's Mike Clarke says it's great to be a part of it and encourages volunteers to support it...

Good Running Events are thrilled to invite runners of all ages and abilities back to the streets of Peterborough for the much-anticipated AEPG Great Eastern Run on Sunday October 13. This event is once again set to host both a thrilling Half Marathon and a lively 5K Fun Run, aiming to raise thousands of pounds for worthy causes.

But it's not just about the runners, it's about all the people who support the event to make it happen, and more volunteers are always needed.

The day kicks off with the 5K Anna's Hope Fun Run, starting promptly at 9am, followed by the Half Marathon at 10.30 am. Participants will enjoy a super flat and fast course, making it an ideal event for seasoned runners looking for a personal best, as well as newcomers eager to join the fun.

Having participated numerous times myself, trust me when I say that the atmosphere is truly electric. Whether you're running, cheering from the side lines, or volunteering, you'll see for yourself that the sense of community is palpable. The camaraderie and spirit of support make it a day to remember, and I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to get involved in one way or another. You won't regret it!

As an added incentive to encourage runners to enter the 5K, Anna’s Hope are offering free places (subject to availability) to runners who can raise at least £30 to support children with a Brain Tumour. There are also prizes for schools in the Anna’s Hope Schools' Challenge with Usborne Books, provided by Little Book Snug and Trophies to be won. It’s a great distance for all abilities and ages and also helps raise much needed funds for charitable causes.

For those interested in volunteering, there are plenty of opportunities available. They're seeking enthusiastic individuals to sign up as route marshals or to assist at the Embankment Event Village.

Additionally, businesses are encouraged to get in touch about sponsorship opportunities, contributing to a great cause while gaining visibility in the community.

So, you don't actually have to run to get involved and be a part of something truly special!
