TIME TO BE HEARD! IN PETERBOROUGH

It’s time to have your say about culture in Peterborough as a new survey gives you the chance to ‘Be Heard!’

Peterborough’s Cultural Alliance is seeking everyone’s views on how they feel about the city’s cultural offering and what they would like to see.

The survey, Be Heard! will also gather valuable data to inform the plans for the Alliance over the coming years as they deliver the cultural strategy for the city.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Are there enough creative things to experience in our city? Your views are needed to help make Peterborough a more creative place for everyone.

Throughout February, Be Heard! offers Peterborough residents an opportunity to share details about the activities they do, the places they go for fun, and how the creative, arts and heritage offer might be improved.

Everyone who lives in Peterborough and is 16+ can complete the survey anonymously and it’s hoped as many people as possible will add their views, whether they take part in creative and cultural activities or not.

You can Be Heard! by visiting www.be-heard-pbo.com where you can find more information and take the survey.

It's been designed by Peterborough Cultural Alliance which brings together arts and culture organisations in the city who lead delivery of the city’s Culture Strategy and represent culture in Peterborough. They help plan programmes of activity, lobby for more support and funding, and advise people on what residents want.

Managing Director of the Cultural Alliance, Sughra Ahmed, said: “There are already some great events and activities happening in the city; opportunities for people to come together, to perform, to learn, to create. But, perhaps you would like there to be more variety? Or maybe you can never find the kind of things you’re interested in?

"The data from this survey will help the Alliance understand more about what the people of Peterborough are passionate about, and identify ways we can bring more opportunities to our city.”

Be Heard! is an online survey you can complete on your phone, laptop; do it on the bus, while you're having a cuppa at home, or visit your library to access their computers. There’s even a chance of winning a £150 shopping voucher (optional).

The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete (20 minutes if using a screen reader). It is available in English, Polish, Lithuanian and Romanian.

So, go on, make your voice heard and hopefully we can increase and improve our cultural and creative activities across Peterborough.
