An extra date’s been added to the Thomas Trick or Treat Ghost Train trips at Nene Valley Railway this month due to popular demand.
There’ll now be train rides on October 30 and 31 as the station celebrates Halloween.
Thomas will be hauling his own train down to Yarwell and back to Wansford, on which you will get to meet Mr G. Host as you pass through the tunnel (he’s the Wansford friendly Ghost of course), the lights on the train will be switched off for a short period of time at this point in the journey.
From Wansford Thomas will uncouple and The Polish Tank Loco will couple up and haul the train to Peterborough and back. On your return to Wansford Station each child will be able to visit the different Trick or Treat Stations set up around the platform to collect their candy treats.
As part of the event there will also be hook a pumpkin, a spooky walk through, pin the boo on the ghost, a ghostly colouring competition (competition entries are to be posted back to NVR by November 30) a haunting short story competition (competition entries are to be posted back to NVR by November 30) Thomas & the Wansford witches spin board and a haunted Wansford station picture trail.
It sounds like a fun packed day and the team have ensured it’s all Covid secure with safety measures in place.
Fancy dress is optional but what a great excuse to get all dressed up spooky style.
Compartments are £60 (max of 6 people) and standard seating is £15 per person (over 1’s)
