TIME TO SAY SO LONG SOYUZ!

Thousands of people have viewed Tim Peake’s spacecraft at Peterborough Cathedral but it’s nearly time to say, ‘so long Soyuz’.

A new video message from European Space Agency astronaut Tim Peake will feature at a special event to mark the end of the exhibition on November 5.

The event, So Long, Soyuz!, starts at 6.30pm with sparklers in the Cathedral Cloisters, where hot dogs will be on sale. Then inside the Cathedral some classic space-themed TV episodes will be screened, including clips from The Clangers and Mr Benn, as well as Tim Peake’s video message. There will then be a final opportunity to view the exhibition, take photographs, or pose with the ‘selfie spacesuit’ before everything is packed away the following day.

Tim Peake’s Spacecraft, presented by Samsung and the Science Museum Group, has had over 156,508 visitors at Peterborough Cathedral since August 10 when the exhibition opened and now continues its nationwide tour.

The next stop is National Museum Cardiff from November 15 to February 10, then finally to Ulster Folk & Transport Museum, Belfast from February 19 – May 12.

Tickets to So Long, Soyuz! are £6 per person / £20 family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) / £10 per person to include Space Descent VR.

You can book via the Cathedral website www.peterborough-cathedral.org.uk/143/section.aspx/142/so_long_soyuz or by phone at Peterborough Information Centre on 01733 452336.
