Newmarket race course is set to party after hours once again with a series of top names announced to perform live this summer.
After a huge sold-out show in 2022, Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics will be returning to the July Course with the Essential Orchestra and Jules Buckley on Friday June 21, opening the Newmarket Nights season in style.
JLS, featuring Peterborough’s very own homegrown star Aston Merrygold, will bring their Summer Hits tour to the green on Friday June 28 and the boys from Busted will be making their triumphant return on Friday July 19.
Singer James Arthur will be making a return on Friday August 2, while two-times BRIT Awards winner, Becky Hill is set to make her headline debut on Friday August 9.
Bringing a brand-new show for 2024, Pete Tong’s set will expertly collide the worlds of classical and club with stunningly reimagined versions of house tracks including Rhythm Is A Dancer, Horny, Rhythm of The Night and Feel The Love alongside forever fan favourites Insomnia, Café Del Mar and many more.
Expect a hedonistic night of fun and nostalgia with incredible visual effects and the latest in music technology.
Sophie Able, General Manager of Newmarket Racecourses, said – “Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics has become a Newmarket favourite for a very good reason. The incomparable night combines the tracks we all know and love, reimagined by the incredible Essential Orchestra and Jules Buckley. Their show in 2022 was undoubtedly a highlight for us, and we can’t wait to welcome them back in 2024 with a brand-new show.”
Having played a brilliant show at Newmarket Nights back in 2014, they’re excited to bring back James Arthur and his fantastic live show to the racecourse.
James Arthur said - “Playing live is one of my absolute favourite things to do, and it’s made even better when it’s outdoor shows in the summer evenings. I had an amazing time at Newmarket Nights 10 years ago and can’t wait to see you all on Friday 2nd August!”
Newmarket Nights is renowned for combining an electric day at the races with a spectacular evening concert in an informal and relaxed open-air setting. The ESP team has been before and can tell you it’s a great mix of racing excitement followed by a live music party. There is also a wide range of street food stalls and restaurants so you can really make a day (and night) of it.
It’s good to see some favourites making a return but Becky Hill is a fantastic addition this summer headlining on Friday August 9. Becky, who is a leading force in the UK music scene, is no stranger to the racecourse having been a special guest vocalist with Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics in 2019.
Sophie Able, General Manager of Newmarket Racecourses, said – “Becky Hill is one of the hottest names in UK music – aside from constantly being at the top of the charts, she is renowned for her outstanding live shows.”
Currently on a huge arena tour, JLS will bring their Summer Hits tour to the green on Friday June 28.
JLS said – “We’ve heard amazing things about Newmarket Nights and are so honoured to join the 2024 line-up! Over the past few years, it’s been a nostalgic rollercoaster reliving our greatest hits with our fans and we can’t wait to continue.”
Incredibly it’s been twenty years since Busted bounced into the charts with the irrepressible pop-punk energy of their debut single What I Go To School For. Charlie Simpson, Matt Willis and James Bourne are truly back and stronger than ever. Their 26-date 20th anniversary tour became the biggest UK arena tour of 2023 and saw the band play to over 200,000 fans.
Sophie Able, General Manager of Newmarket Racecourses, said – “Busted last headlined Newmarket Nights back in 2016 and they’ve been long overdue a return visit. From Charlie winning The Masked Singer to the band finally clinching their first number one album, 2023 has truly been theirs. We can’t wait to welcome them back amongst a stellar line-up this year.”
Busted will be live at the July Course on Friday July 19.
