Fancy doing your bit for the community and gaining some new skills?
Then join the Forest for Peterborough Woodland Heritage Conservation and Craft Days, which are held every Thursday and last Saturday of the month, 10am-4pm, in Bretton.
Learn traditional skills associated with the ancient woodlands in Bretton, such as practical woodland management, wildlife surveying, woodcraft and carving, woodland history research, bush craft and take part in the kids club. Grimeshaw Wood is located on either side of Bretton Way. The wood was historically part of the Royal Rockingham Forest, which has been managed by our ancestors for at least 2,000 years.
You’ll need to be prepared to take part in all activities because class sizes are limited and wear suitable clothing and footwear. On Thursdays meet on Essendyke Road (PE3 8JD) from 10am-10.15am before heading to the woodland location. On the last Saturday of every month the group works in Grimeshaw Wood on Essendyke Road (PE3 8JD), 10am-4pm.
