Pop and fashion fans were in for a double treat as Vanessa from the Saturdays came to Peterborough to host a catwalk show in Queensgate…
The centre was packed as Vanessa White from The Saturdays took to the stage, looking gorgeous in a French Connection outifit, to host The Show, part of the centre’s Autumn Fashion Fix.
The fabulous fashion extravaganza attracted thousands of shoppers into the centre, all hoping to get a glimpse of Vanessa, as well as see this season’s hottest catwalk looks.
ESP’s fashion reporter Natasha Fierro and editor Sharon McAllister had front row seats to catch the action and the professional show had something to suit all ages and tastes.
Natasha was keen to see the latest trends and thought the fashion shows really showed off the possibilities for the new season – “I loved the styling and the way they’d pulled the looks together. Layering a shirt underneath a dress took a summer look into autumn and demonstrated how you can extend your summer wardrobe during this milder weather.
“It was great see they’d made the most of all the new trends and not just focused on one look. Mulberry is a colour to look out for and the camo trend is set to be big, but this event showed there’s so much out there to update your wardrobe with for the guys and the girls.”
The catwalk show kicked off with an array of bold, beautiful coats, moving through eight stunning scenes, showcasing key looks for autumn/winter 2013 from retailers such as John Lewis, Primark, Next, Oasis, BHS and smaller independent stores from the centre including jewellery from Tahlias Closet.
Vanessa’s appearance at Queensgate was part of the centre’s Autumn Fashion Fix, which saw fashion shows taking place throughout the whole weekend. On top of this, many of the retailers were offering amazing discounts and offers to the centre’s shoppers.
Vanessa has a keen interest in fashion and sat and watched the catwalk shows as the models strutted out in day and evening looks.
It’s great to see more star names making appearances in the city and Sam Eastwood, centre director at Queensgate, told ESP he was delighted – “We can’t believe how many people showed up to see Vanessa, Queensgate was absolutely packed!”
