VIVACITY LINES UP EASTER HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES IN PETERBOROUGH

It’s finally Easter – and that means it’s time to entertain the kids!

Checking out what’s on it seems like Vivacity’s various venues across the city including local sports centres, libraries, Peterborough Museum and the Key Theatre have it pretty much in hand.

If you still need to stick with the 9 to 5, Vivacity run holiday clubs from April 8 – April 18 packed with a range of fun activities, themed days including LEGO, Marvel and Army days to keep the kids occupied from 8.30am – 5.30pm.

There are also plenty of other fun events lined up so why not try some of these…


Easter Eggstravaganza

Join in with a range of Easter themed crafts and fun at Peterborough Museum on Saturday April 20 from 10am – 3pm.

Admission’s £3 for children, £4 for adults, £12 for families, under 5s go free.

Awesome Archaeology

If the kids like an adventure, how about a go at digging through history? Flag Fen is the place to head on Monday April 8, Friday April 12, Monday April 15 and Thursday April 18 from 10am – 5pm.

Flag Fen is the site of a mysterious timber causeway and platform made by people 3,500 years ago. Today it’s also home to a play area, fascinating wildlife and the ‘Big Dig Tent’ – a dedicated area to give children their first experiences with archaeology and excavation.

Admission is £5 child & concession, £8 adults, £20 for a family (2 adults, 3 kids).

Treasure Seekers

Here’s a chance for kids to become a time travelling treasure seeker in this morning of history, fun, craft and exploration at Peterborough Museum. Take them along on Monday April 8 – Friday April 12 or from Monday April 15Thursday April 18 for the chance to discover Peterborough’s treasures in this special exhibition, and then uncover their own.

Admission is £5 per child.


Peterborough is Revolting

See the Peasants’ Revolt of 1381 come to life at Longthorpe Tower – which side are you on?

Head to Longthorpe on Saturday April 13 or Sunday April 14 between 10am and 4pm

Admission is £3 child & concession, £4 for adults, £12 for a family (2 adults, 3 kids).


Crazy Confectionery

Everybody loves sweets – particularly the kids right?

Here’s an opportunity to make their own confectionery inspired Easter decorations and to learn about the historic Baker Perkins factory, where machinery was invented to make immense supplies of biscuits, chocolates and sweets.

Drop in between 10am and 2pm on Thursday April 11 or book at the Central Library.

It’s suitable for ages 4-14, and admission’s £2, children will need to be accompanied by an adult.


Rollers Skating Sessions

Vivacity’s rollers skating sessions have the latest music, state of the art lighting and sound systems, plus a DJ taking special requests.

They’re held every Saturday at Werrington Leisure Centre and the first Sunday of every month at Bushfield Leisure Centre. No need to book just pay on arrival.

Family Shows @ the Key Theatre

There are plenty of great family shows taking to the stage at the Key Theatre throughout April too so it’s well worth checking out the full programme on www.vivacity.org

From The Amazing Bubbleman on Sunday April 7 and There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly on April 8 and 9, there’s also a film screening of Mary Poppins on Sunday April 14 and who doesn’t like Sooty? He’ll be dropping in with Sweep and Soo on Wednesday April 17 with his magic show!
