The city’s second Wendy’s restaurant and drive thru is now open at Cygnet Park in Hampton.
ESP popped down for a quick preview and sampled some of the food which was very tasty indeed. The restaurant is stylish and modern and the range of food and drinks on offer is extensive.
Carl Morris managing director told us there had been such a huge take up at the first restaurant they were keen to open a second for the other side of Peterborough and the new location, in the former Frankie & Benny’s unit was the perfect place. It has created 60 jobs.
“We offer breakfast, lunch and dinner there’s a vast menu, healthy options are available - 350 calories for a grilled chicken sandwich - but of course you can be naughty if you want to and stack a larger burger,” said Carl.
“It’s all fresh food, we use British beef and we don’t freeze it, we get deliveries all the time. All the lettuce, tomatoes and onions are all prepared freshly each day. It’s all cooked to order, you can customise everything here – and it’s quick.”
There is easy electronic ordering on display screens which mean you can create just what you want from an extensive menu or you can order at the till or the drive thru.
The first Wendy’s in the city at Maskew Avenue has proved a big success and as it’s so popular with families this new outlet now boasts a soft-play area for the kids.
“This is the first bespoke customised soft play for Wendy's in the UK," Carl told ESP. "It’s safe and contained and even has a burger in it they can build. This gives families a place to come and sit down, they can see their kids while they eat and they can eat healthily.”
Wendy’s in Hampton is open from 7am – 11pm, 7 days a week.
